COFC Logistics and BNSF Expand Intermodal Network Across U.S. and Into Mexico

This expansion is about empowering IMCs with the tools they need to compete and grow
— Jonathan Mulch

COFC Logistics and BNSF Railway have announced a major expansion of their intermodal container service network, now reaching further into the eastern United States and extending into Monterrey, Mexico, in partnership with GMXT. This move gives Intermodal Marketing Companies (IMCs) broader access to key Northeast and Southeast U.S. markets, as well as new cross-border opportunities in Mexico.

The expanded network means increased container availability, more ramp locations, and optimized service schedules—especially designed for asset-light IMCs who rely on partner railroads for equipment and services. By connecting more of North America’s supply chain, COFC and BNSF are making it easier for IMCs to compete, grow, and serve their customers with greater flexibility and reliability.

This partnership not only opens new lanes, but also adds capacity and opportunity for businesses looking for scalable, cost-effective intermodal solutions.
